NYU High School Experience: The Art of Solo and Collaborative Piano
July 20 – July 31st, 2009
Pre-college pianists receive private lessons and rehearse in small ensembles, learning the arts of solo and chamber music performance with experienced NYU-Steinhardt string players and coaching with pianists Miyoko Nakaya Lotto, Jose Ramon Mendez and Stephanie Baer, Director of String Studies. Showcase performances will take place in New York City and Southampton. All participants will be invited to participate in the NYU-Steinhardt Young Pianists Competition, the winner of which will be featured in a New York recital the following season; cash prizes will be awarded to the winner and runners-up, selected by an NYU Artist Faculty jury headed by Marilyn Nonken, Director of Piano Performance Studies.
