Facilities

In addition to our multiple departmental performance and rehearsal spaces delineated below, we utilize diverse facilities throughout New York University and performance venues in New York City with regular performances at Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall, Tenri Hall, selected Broadway and off-Broadway Theatres and acclaimed Jazz Clubs. Our main department space is in the heart of the NYU's Greenwich Village campus surrounding historic Washington Square Park.

The Kimmel Center, a facility that opened in Fall 2003, houses eighteen acoustically treated practice rooms, rehearsal rooms, a recital hall, chamber music spaces, the five hundred forty seat Eisner-Lubin auditorium, and the state-of-the-art Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. The Skirball Center includes a magnificent theater with close to 900 seats in which we present Symphony Orchestra concerts, Music Theatre and Opera productions, Department-wide meetings and special events.
