Dance Education Graduate

 

Master of Arts

Our outstanding dance and dance education curriculum prepares graduates to be innovative leaders in dance education. Our Master of Arts degree program is designed with these areas of concentration:

Teaching K-12: For the in-service dance educator who wishes to enrich and expand dance and pedagogical skills and practice (36 credits).

Teaching K-12 + Teacher Certification: For the pre-service dance educator seeking provisional teacher certification for grades kindergarten through 12. Leads to eligibility for New York State certification as a Teacher of Dance, K-12 with reciprocity in numerous states (48 credits).

Teaching in Higher Education: For those who wish to teach dance in higher education settings or to prepare for doctoral study (36 credits).

Teaching in Higher Education and the Professions: ABT Ballet Pedagogy
Students intending to teach in private studios, conservatories, as teaching-artists and community outreach may select a concentration in ballet pedagogy with the American Ballet Theatre (36 credits).
