Educational Consultation
Staff members are available to assist students when students' academic work has fallen below school standards for satisfactory academic progress. These special services are available through the Office:
- Early Intervention Project: identifies new undergraduate students at midterm during their first semester who are earning less than "C" grades in their courses. Students meet with Counseling and Student Services staff to discuss tutoring, counseling and other support services and strategies to assist you in succeeding in your cousework.
- Tutorial Services: We will refer you to the College Learning Center (http://www.nyu.edu/cas/clc) for assistance with your liberal arts courses, including those taken through the Morse Academic Plan (MAP). We will also assist in identifying resources for courses in your major.
- Academic Counseling: The Student Services staff, in conjunction with students' departmental academic advisers, can offer study skills and other strategies to assist both graduate and undergraduate students in their studies.
- Student Services Workshops: The Student Services staff in conjunction with other university services offers a semester-long menu of workshops that help students maximize their academic and personal success. Offerings include "Getting Started", "Preparing for Midterms/Finals", and workshops that focus on "Financial Matters" and "Housing Options." Workshops are tailored to the needs of all students, and are offered in small group settings.
