Work Study (General): Summer
The Department of Applied Psychology is seeking a work study two students to work 20 hrs/week. Duties will include answering telephone, filing, copying, and assisting with the general administrative needs of the Department. Students must be a self-starters with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, have strong attention to details, and excellent organizational and communication skills. Graduate Assistants Wanted
A new doctoral training program in the Department of Applied Psychology, "Psychology and Social Intervention" is seeking 1 full-time (20 hours/week) or 2 part-time (10 hours/week) graduate student assistant(s) for Academic Year 2008-2009.Position Summary:
The program focuses on training students to understand and change the various contexts and social systems in which individuals develop and spend time. It also trains students in empirical methods for designing and assessing intervention/prevention and health promotion efforts. Program faculty study a broad range of (a) contexts and social systems, including early childhood programs, school reform programs, school transitions, homelessness, HIV-AIDS, welfare and work policy, and (b) dimensions of human well-being, including mental and physical health, learning and academic achievement, and social-emotional and ethnic-racial identity development. Students complete a rigorous core curriculum, and are heavily engaged in research, throughout the course of their training.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Program Director(s), the Graduate Assistant(s) will perform the following tasks:
- Create program documents including information sheets and, curriculum summaries.
- Prepare student recruitment materials and help develop and implement a student recruitment plan.
- Create a pre- and post-doctoral fellowship resource collection.
- Develop and maintain the program's webpage and Blackboard site.
- Organize program meetings and seminars, including booking meeting room, drafting agenda, and coordinating catering (if required)
- Provide administrative support for faculty searches.
- Provide administrative support for courses in the Spring and Fall, i.e. requesting and managing course Blackboard sites, ordering course texts, researching readings, etc.
